Okay, this post has nothing to do with the subject line, but Year Zero has been in the spirals of my DNA for weeks and weeks. It was the soundwall while working on the prototype, designs, which might explain why the whole thing is way more abstract than what I normally create. Which reminds me, I have a funny (to me) faire-related Year Zero story to share. It will have to wait until I get back to talking about faire.
Anywho, thanks to the autopost feature just because I'm not around doesn't mean the blog can't be. A certain somebody who has decided she can boss me around FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY needs an Emergency Dress. The woman knows I can rock out some skirts, but dresses I'm no so good at, yet, what with dresses requiring darts, and I hate making darts. But because she also knows I've been working on a dress prototype on and off for about three months (that one's out of protean stage), she's decided that's enough for me to get her what she needs by her deadline. As she put it, "time to pay up for all those times you you stuck me with pins." For the record, IF a stray pin strike happened, it is because CERTAIN PEOPLE cannot stand still like they were told to.
So, this week, stuff that's been pushed back for various reasons over the past couple of weeks.
Tomorrow, more Cormac McCarthy! The rest of the week, books, a visit to the baseball academy in Compton and art running up against commerce in Gee's Bend. We will resume real-time service next week.
