My peers and I are in one of the back rooms at Geek Headquarters in La Mesa assembling the way cool amenity bags that will be given to the official guests. I'm puzzling over the map of the site posted on the wall. It's the first time I've seen the entire final layout of this year's Geek Central. It looks good.
Me: "Why is there a huge Lord of the Rings pavilion?"
Athena: "It's the Lord of the Rings. They need a pavilion."
Me: "But isn't Lord of the Rings over?"
An unsettling silence falls upon the crowd. The hairs on the back of my neck tingle as a room full of Disapproving Eyeballs stare at me with astonishment.
Athena: "Lord of the Rings will NEVER be over."
