I have not talked at all about how much I love this work mainly because I don't have time to get into it, but also a little bit because reading comics on a computer is not my thing. With Bayou very early into kinda felt it's a novel, novels need to be read in one piece, not in bits dribbed out on a computer, and this particular work will have even more of a wallop in one piece.
Now that it's finally out in a format that fits Moi best I still don't have time to delve into neepery about why this work is brilliantly gorgeous for reasons well beyond the lovely art. But I do plan to do what I did with From the Notebooks of Dr. Brain -- buy copies as funds allow and distribute at will. Because it's THAT good.
What else is cool? Not glossy paper! yay! Glossy paper annoys me.
News outlets say the entire thing will be in three volumes, 500K pages. Shall we begin the campaign for the Absolute Edition now, or shall we wait until after the second volume comes out next year sometime? Like, if we all just start calling Paul Levitz now, would that be helpful? A voicemail a day for the next three years!
