The Grim Sleeper case they're talking about in the link relates to a serial killer who has been murdering black women in South Los Angeles for 23 years and has not been caught. Whoever he is, he is possibly the longest active serial killer in California history. He has been able to kill for so very long in part because of a publicity void stemming from the fact that he's not murdering white women. He took a long break between kills, and only four years ago did police realize they were dealing with one person who has reemerged south of the 10. The story by the LA Weekly is not an easy read.
Whoever this guy is, it's not the first time a predator was able to roam at will and . A couple of years ago they caught Chester Turner, who raped/killed 11 black women over 13 years in South LA, with 90% of his victims within a four- or five-block radius of his mother's home.
Missing black girls just don't get the same push as missing white girls do.
