Personally, I despise the LA Weekly's new site design and decreased functionality, but this isn't about me. This is about yet another white person caught with his colors down! For this one, I'm going to excerpt only the headline and deck, because they are AWESOME:

Not repeat ourselves, but ... IS IT NECESSARY TO GO TO SUCH LENGTHS JUST TO GET A BOOK CONTRACT? I just don't get these people with no patience. Especially the ones who obviously have talent.
The article only mentions the history of The Education of Little Tree in passing. That case was similar to this one, only with (to me) much higher stakes. Anyone unfamiliar with the connection between Little Tree and the man who wrote the words "Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!" needs to click on this link to start, and then go hunt around LexisNexus for more.
If you click that second link, go back to the one under the book title, look at the listing and for your own amusement jot down the things that are Where's Waldo about that particular catalog entry. That, my darlin's, is how history is crafted.
